Leaflet displays at airports sell!
Heathrow and Gatwick airports can offer great brand coverage for businesses looking to reach an international audience with over 100 million passengers walking through each year – all receptive to information.
As many as 5 million leaflets were picked up in 2007 – from a selection of titles chosen including shows like We Will Rock You, Dirty Dancing and Lord of the Rings, but also useful guides such as Transport for London, information on RailAir.com and Victoria and Albert Museum.
Take One Media decided to survey people at Heathrow & Gatwick to find out who picked up these leaflets and what prompted them; to inform future product planning. The results were very interesting.
- A wide mix of people from differing nationalities, social classes and ages were surveyed at both airports all with different interests and desires. A Scientist from Australia was attracted to the stand by moving pictures and thought it was “Handy to have the information. Interested in some of the musicals."
- 46% of people were attracted by the stands appearance, 34% wanted leaflets about the UK, 14% a particular poster and 6% tourist information.
- Over half approached the stand with a definite objective - either looking for specific information or attracted by the information. 57% of people will read the information, 21% to find out contact details and 14% to book tickets online or by phone.
