Business Travellers

Business people are a notoriously difficult group to target. They lead on the go lifestyles and consequently rarely stop to take in advertising messages. This is the same whether they are UK based or international.

An airport is one of the few places where they have time on their hands - most arrive at least 1-2 hours before a flight and so will be buying currency, doing some last-minute shopping and generally browsing through what the terminal has to offer. And most use the Heathrow Express - again a more relaxed environment that gives them a little extra time.

All airports have a volume of business traffic, but a few attract a much higher percentage including Heathrow and Heathrow Express, Southampton, Stansted and Manchester

Some interesting facts about business travellers -

  • Over 50 million passenger trips taken each year
  • 39% of the audience at Heathrow Airport are travelling on business
  • 30% of all flights taken for business are with a low-cost provider
  • British Airways - the favourite business travel airline for the seventh year running
  • EasyJet number one for low-cost business travel
  • Over three-quarters (78%) of business travellers enjoy travelling on business
